Default. The happy path, with real-looking numbers.

Sample data. Each state is designed, so nothing here is a real error.

Nearly 3 years in. I was the first designer at Burpy, an AI food and health startup, from my final year of college. At KFintech I led one product from a 2-day first version to launch, and built a design system for the products that come next.

14 screens in two days, in February 2025. It won the go-ahead to build.

Selected work

Four case studies, the live product first.

The first client signed on my Figma prototype, before the build.

Helping listed Indian companies see who really owns their shares

Investor relations teams couldn’t see who really owned their shares. I led the design from a 2-day first version to a live product with an AI assistant.

One Figma and React system for KFintech’s digital products

Our products drew one button in at least seven heights. I set the rules for one system in Figma and React, and checked every part the AI agents built.

About 500 Android screens, drawn by hand.

Two Burpy screens: a photographed meal listed item by item with calories and a health score, and the fix typed in plain words: Add one cup of yogurt.

Designing an all-in-one AI health app for how India eats

People ate without a plan, and calorie apps didn’t understand home food. I designed flows for all 12 app areas, including an AI meal log you fix in plain words.

The scan stays beside the fields, all 8 pages.

Helping KYC teams in India turn scanned paper forms into checked records, field by field

Teams typed 66 fields per individual application by hand from scanned paper forms. Now software reads the scan first, and I designed how people confirm each field before approval.

What I work on

Four parts of how I work, each linked to its proof.

Prototypes

First versions people can click through before anything is built. The first AEGIX client signed on one.

Proof: IR portal

Dashboards

Screens full of data where the number that matters is easy to find.

Proof: IR portal

Design systems

Tokens, components and rules that live in Figma and in code.

Proof: Design system

AI features

AI that guesses, with a clear way for people to check and fix the guess.

In their words

From people I worked with, credited by role.

Product Manager, AEGIXOn IR portal
“The Figma design was the base everything else was built on. It helped the company and the team turn an idea into a live product. Amandeep took feedback well and stayed up till 5 am with us before a client meeting.”

Senior developer, KFintechOn Design system
“Amandeep worked out why our designs never fully made it into the final product. He didn’t argue. He proposed a fix and gave it everything he had. What we got was a working solution, not code handed over for us to rewrite and polish.”

Founder & CEO, BurpyOn Burpy
“I hired Amandeep on trust as a fresher [with no work experience], and he never broke that trust. He started stronger in UX than in UI and caught up on UI over time. His arguments for a better user experience were very good.”

CEO of KFintech’s KYC agency, also its product ownerOn KYC registry
“Having Amandeep on the project sped up production. His coordination was a big positive for the project, and his ideas helped us steer the design in the right direction.”

What I learned reading WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 side by side

For contrast, WCAG 2.0 measured text and little else. Versions 2.1 and 2.2 added rules for borders, icons, focus and tap targets.Read the post

How I learned to name design tokens, by naming them badly first

My first big token file fought me within two weeks. The naming pattern I use now, with before-and-after examples you can copy.Read the post

Design the fix before the guess: what AI features taught me

AI features guess, and sometimes they guess wrong without looking wrong. How to show where a model is unsure, where an answer came from, and how to fix it fast.Read the post
